Mililani’s Erin Hikiji Becomes Wrestling All-American At Fargo Nationals With Fourth-Place Finish

Erin Hikiji is an All-American wrestler.

She did that by placing fourth in the 100-pound class at the USA Wrestling Junior National Championships in Fargo, N.D., on Wednesday.

Hikiji, who will be a senior at Mililani this fall, went 6-2 in the tournament.

She won her first three matches to get to the quarterfinals, where she lost to Alexandra Szkotnicki of Maryland, 16-6 (4;02).

But that didn’t stop Hijiki’s determination. She followed that loss up with three consolation-round victories to climb back up into the third-place match.

And, once again, Hikiji met up with Szkotnicki and this time, she went down 10-6 (2:28).

Hikiji won the 97-pound Hawaii high school state championship as a sophomore with the Trojans in February 2020. One year, earlier, she placed fourth at states as a freshman. She is  No. 18 in FloWrestling.com’s national rankings.
