Bigger, Faster, Stronger In One Week: 2022 Top Track And Field Times And Distances Fall

There were seven Hawaii high school varsity track and field meets across the state last weekend.

Bedrock Sports Hawaii has a list of multiple-event winners from the six meets below, along with 1o new instances of the best times or distances so far in 2022.

At the bottom of the post, you’ll find a list of the 2022 best times and distances for each event and a list of state meet records.

Kahuku’s team of Chansen Garcia, Brock Fonoimoana, Clyde Taulapapa and Kainoa Carvalho recorded the top 4×100 time in 2022 so far at Waipahu last Saturday. They ran in reverse order — from right to left.

Mililani’s Elle Rimando And Seabury Hall’s Kaylee Volner Pile Up The Wins

Two athletes had utterly amazing weeks.

Mililani’s Elle Rimando won four individual events and was part of a winning relay team (see list of multiple-event winners bel0w) at the OIA Qualifying Meet at Waipahu on Saturday

Seabury Hall’s Kaylee Volner won the 800- and 1,500-meter runs at the MIL Qualifying Meet at War Memorial Stadium on Friday, and then flew to Oahu, where she won the 1,500 and 3,000 at the Kamehameha Invitational on Saturday.

>> Maui’s Ethan Takara, 6 feet, 3 inches in the high jump

>> King Kekaulike freshman Ja’lyn Deichert, 12.61 seconds in the 100 (which is 0.60 off the state meet record)

>> Seabury Hall’s Volner, 4:56.73 in the 1,500

>> Hawaii Baptist Academy’s Jordy Davenport, 1:01.40 in the 400

>> Kamehameha’s Tatum Moku, 15.98 in the 100 hurdles

>> Mililani’s Stephen Chezik, 13-0 in the pole vault

>> Campbell’s Jadaiah Taugasolo in the 110 hurdles (15.88)

>> Mililani’s Rimando, 36-07 in the triple jump, and she equaled Waiakea’s Taysia Rocha in the long jump (16-11.25)

>> Punahou’s Kelsey Ann Sato, Vani Salanoa, Gabby Smith and Hannah Miura, 50.77 in the girls 4×100 relay
